Like the New Order footage we posted earlier today, this half-hour, six-song package from Arte Live of The Cure performing at the Vieilles Charrues festival in France on July 20 is top-quality stuff. The video was posted to The Cure’s Facebook page earlier today with the message — in all caps, so presumably from Robert Smith himself — that fans should “EXPERIENCE THE WONDER THAT IS JASON AND THE CUREONAUTS,” presumably a reference to drummer Jason Cooper. Check it out in the player embedded above.

Reeves Gabrels!
Robert Smith has some labels stuck on the top of the acoustic guitar. I can’t tell from the video exactly what the say, put it’s probably something like: “Note to self: Don’t forget to fire Roger again at the end of the tour”
Impressive footage, why cant someone do this when Depeche Mode are on tour? All we get is crappy mobile phone footage.
I know i keep slagging them off but to be fair, that was a rather good rendition of In Between Days, that’s the difference O’ Donnell makes. Still, its a shame they’ve given up doing anything new.
New Robert Smith (an original song) will appear on the soundtrack to Frankenweenie!
