With the band’s first new album in 20 years now released, John Lydon’s reactivated Public Image Ltd. is planning a North American tour later this year, the group announced on its website today. No details have been released about the trek, which comes more than two years after PiL’s post-Coachella tour of North America in the spring of 2010.
Public Image, which last week released This Is PiL, currently has a handful of European festival and club dates booked for the summer, plus 15 dates in the U.K. and Ireland in late July and throughout August. The band has toured steadily since Lydon first resurrected his long-dormant post-Sex Pistols group in December 2009.

I really wanted to like their new album. But I just couldn’t get into it. Catching them live could be fun though. I remember seeing them with INXS and later on the 120 minutes tour. Good times.
PiL’s new album kicks butt. it gets daily play at my house. lollypop opera is totally phyco. i am just waiting for the dates of the u.s. tour. have seen them so many times already. pretty much every tour they did except 2009 coachella dates. if i would have been on the west coast, i would have been there. i have everything they have done.
