Former Depeche Mode bandmatesVince Clarke and Martin L. Gore, working together again for the first time in 30 years under the name VCMG, will precede their debut album with a second teaser, in the form of EP 2/Single Blip — featuring the title track, which you can hear below, plus remixes by Byetone and Mathew Jonson.
The EP is set for release Feb. 27 on 12-inch vinyl and as a digital download, and follows the release last month of EP1/Spock. The song “Single Blip” is described in press materials as, “A pounding motorik beat heralds the start of this minimal electronic tour de force. With primal drums and puckering bleeps, it’s an industrial battle cry of the darkest proportions, setting teeth on edge with nails-across-blackboard screeching, ominous synths and spiraling rhythms.”
VCMG’s full-length album, Ssss, will be released by Mute on March 13.
