A long-planned rarities compilation from London post-punk outfit The Lucy Show — the 72-minute Remembrances — finally will be released next month, collecting 17 tracks that never have been released on CD, including the band’s 1983 debut single, alternates takes and five demos of tracks that appeared on 1985’s …undone.
The collection, first announced in 2009, will be released on Dec. 13 via Words On Music, the label that previously reissued the band’s two studio albums, …undone and 1986’s Mania.
Spanning 1983 to 1992, Remembrances also includes a previously unreleased version of “The Price of Love,” the opening track to 1984’s Extended Play EP; a John Leckie-produced outtake from Mania; and two songs from an aborted 1992 session that reunited singers Rob Vandeven and Mark Bandola with original guitarist Pete Barraclough four years after the band split.

LOL. Great. After spending all that money on Ebay to find Leonardo da Vinci on vinyl, this finally comes out. Looking forward to it. One of the most underrated bands of the late 80s IMHO.

I only know this band from the one song you played on Dark Wave, but I really, really dug that tune. I will definitely check this out.
My faves are Leonardo da Vinci, White Space, and Sojourn’s End. But they’re all great.
The quarter-note beat and choked vocal style reminds me of Robert Smith.
