The current incarnation of The Lemonheads — the Evan Dando-led act that emerged from the late-’80s Boston college-rock scene — will perform its 1992 breakout album It’s a Shame About Ray in its entirety during tours of both North America and the U.K. this fall and winter, the band announced today.
The group — Dando backed by guitarist Josh Lattanzi and drummer Brian Nolan — will open the 29-date North American leg of the tour Sept. 30 in Little Rock, Ark., and play across the country, ending Nov. 5 in Bellingham, Wash. Then, on Nov. 30, the trio resumes in Portsmouth, England, playing 11 U.K. dates that wrap up Dec. 13 in London.
Released at the height of the alt-rock explosion, It’s a Shame About Ray made Dando an MTV star and generated modern-rock radio hits with the record’s title track and the band’s cover of the Simon & Garfunkel classic “Mrs. Robinson,” which was later appended to the album. In 2008, Rhino Records reissued Ray in a deluxe 2CD/1DVD package.

Unfortunately, it appears this reunion will be lacking Mr. Ben Deily, who gave The Lemonheads all their punk rock cred.
Deily has his own thing going, which is quite good and a bit more forward-looking (new songs, not old ones!)
Ben, is that you posting comments under a pseudonym?
