The Psychedelic Furs, Tom Tom Club set to join forces for fall tour of the U.S.

While neither band has formally announced the trek, The Psychedelic Furs — hot off this summer’s 30th anniversary Talk Talk Talk dates — have enlisted New Wave contemporaries Tom Tom Club for what appears to be at least a three-week tour of the United States this fall.

The Psychedelic Furs have announced two of the dates on their website — Sept. 14 in Saratoga, Calif., and Oct. 3 in New York City — and a check of ticketing and venue websites reveals more concerts in Denver; Lexington, Ky.; and Westbury, N.Y. With the dates scattered between Sept. 14 to Oct. 7, it’s likely a full tour is in the works.

The Furs are currently in the midst of their Talk Talk Talk tour, which runs through July 15 in Syracuse, N.Y. And Tom Tom Club — comprised, of course, of half of Talking Heads — sets out for the U.K. and Ireland next month for a run of 30th anniversary dates spanning July 14 through July 22; the band also will play a one-off show with Devo and The English Beat on Aug. 4 at an Indian casino in Highland, Calif.

UPDATE 7/27/11: There are now at least 21 joint Psychedelic Furs/Tom Tom Club tour dates in September and October, including one in Washington state that also features Devo on the bill.
