Although no official announcement has yet been made, postpunk icons Killing Joke — featuring reunited original lineup of Jaz Coleman, Kevin “Geordie” Walker, Martin “Youth” Glover and Paul Ferguson — apparently has canceled its upcoming 13-date North American tour, which was to have started May 22.
San Diego venue The Casbah, which was promoting a May 28 show at Brick By Brick, last night tweeted: “Sorry to announce that Killing Joke has canceled their tour due to illness.” San Francisco’s Great American Music Hall also has announced its May 27 Killing Joke show is canceled, adding, “There is no make-up date.”
The trek — in support of 2010’s much-anticipated comeback album Absolute Dissent — was to have followed last December’s 12-date North American tour, itself largely rescheduled from last spring when the band decided it needed more work on Absolute Dissent. That album is the first since 1982’s Revelations to feature the band’s original lineup.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO… I haven’t seen these bastards since ’94! What a pisser.
Well, shoot. I was all lined up to see their set at Chaos in Tejas. Oh well. Someday…
This band is cursed.
I just hope that KJ gets better management, and soon. They are going to lose more fans with this kind of dodgy behavior. I know people who were flying in from the U.K. to see them play in the States. Very disappointing and so frustrating, too.
i hope they are all ok, that it’s nothing life threatening
I saw them in December and they were fantastic! So sad this show got cancelled :(
