BACKSTORY: Calling it an album “sung in English for Norwegian ears,” Robyn Hitchcock has quietly released a new album on Norwegian label Hype City Recordings. The record, for sale on the singer’s site, features eight new songs, a re-recording of “Raining Twilight Coast” from 1990’s Eye and a new Norwegian-language version of “Goodnight Oslo.”

BACKSTORY: Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab this week releases a series of new titles on numbered, limited-edition, audiophile vinyl, including the second album, originally released in 1981, by Ian McCulloch and Co. The album features the singles “A Promise” and “Over the Wall,” plus album tracks including “Show of Strength” and “All I Want.”

BACKSTORY: Another new Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab title out this week, the Aussie rockers’ global 1987 blockbuster arrives on numbered, limited-edition, audiophile vinyl. The album features the hit singles “Need You Tonight,” “Devil Inside,” “New Sensation” and “Never Tear Us Apart,” plus tracks such as “Mystify” and “Guns in the Sky.”

BACKSTORY: The classic 1979 debut from the Athens, Ga., party band is among this week’s crop of new, numbered, limited-edition, audiophile vinyl reissues from Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab. The album features such classics as “Rock Lobster,” “Planet Claire,” “Dance This Mess Around” and “There’s a Moon in the Sky (Called the Moon).”

The second CD features B-sides, demos and singles, while the third disc is a full live concert from 1986.
