Playlist: Sirius XM’s “Dark Wave” — hosted by Slicing Up Eyeballs (11/23/25)

Peter Murphy

“Dark Wave,” hosted by Slicing Up Eyeballs’ Matt Sebastian, explores the darker side of classic ’80s alternative, including vintage goth, post-punk and industrial. The shows airs at 10 p.m. to 1 a.m. Eastern every Sunday on Sirius XM satellite radio’s 1st Wave (Channel 33).

The most recent two episodes are also available to subscribers to stream via the Sirius XM app.

Got a request? Requests will be considered for future episodes as long as they fit the show’s format and fall generally within the 1st Wave era — and provided the host doesn’t harbor an intense dislike of the song. If there’s something you’d like to hear, drop it in the comments below.

  4. Radio Atlantis

Superb tracks from Lush, Swervedriver and MBM

  5. How about “Only A Shadow” by The Cleaners From Venus?

  6. Nolan Dickson

Not sure if you’re still looking for covers
But the Bob Dylan Lay Lady Lay Cover by Ministry off of Filth Pig is a good one.

Love your show! Listen every Sunday.
EBM and Darkwave’s still strong in Detroit!

  7. Thanks for all the P-Furs lately – big fan of the Butler brothers. How about a track from their later venture: Love Spit Love? Maybe “Am I Wrong” or “Change in the Weather”.

    • Seconded! In fact, on the subject of covers…. Love Spit Love actually covered “How Soon is Now” by the Smiths circa mid-90’s. :)

  8. Great show.

How about Myssouri- No Mans Ark

and for the cover show 1000 Homo DJ’s- Supernaut

  9. I was pleased to hear you play Gary Clail—I’ve often thought about requesting his song “Human Nature”, but thought it might not fit the format. But you do play MCL and CCCP, so perhaps it does. (His Science Fiction remix of DM’s “Master and Servant” is good as well.).

    P. Scriptum—the Heaven 17 cover of “Don’t Fear the Reaper” is great.

    • “On U Sound in the Area” !! :) There’s a few other tracks off G. Clail’s ‘End of the Century Party’ that would DEF fit in around here! In particular, “House Building” and perhaps even “Rave On”. And of course his killer collab work with Tackhead .. “Hard Left”!

  10. UK Decay – Mayday Malady

Faith No More – Let’s Lynch The Landlord (Dead Kennedys)
Jane’s Addiction – Sympathy For The Devil (The Rolling Stones)

Some possible suggestions for next time:

    KMFDM – Godlike
    Nitzer Ebb – Warsaw Ghetto

Thanks again as always!! Hope you have a fabulous Thanksgiving!!! Brap On! 。◕‿◕。

  13. Hi Matt, cool show last night. Could you play a song by the post-punk/punk band La Peste on a future show please. Either “ I don’t know right from wrong” or “better off dead” thank you!

  14. Great Show Amigo!!! Here are some requests for the cover episode or anytime that works : )

This Mortal Coil – Song To The Siren
Ministry – The Light Pours Out Of Me
    Ministry – Ricky’s Hand
    & for any episode
    Final Cut – Primal Understanding

    Thanks for playing MBM!

    Cheers, Augie

  15. Just taking a moment to echo the sentiment that Murdoch shared…I’m forever grateful for this show and the weekly doses of dark joy it gives me.
Thanks for another solid show. Hour one was my favorite (chock full of many personal favorites) and a shoe gaze block is always appreciated.

A request for an upcoming show…I’ve been listening to the Stone Roses and Primal Scream since the news broke of Mani’s passing…RIP.
How about a dealer’s choice for any of the following Primal Scream tracks:
    “Kill All Hippies”
    “Swastika Eyes”
    “Kowalski”

    Wishing everyone a happy Thanksgiving.

    • RIP Mani :(

I’ve been on the same Stone Roses / Primal Scream kick as well – I’d toss Fool’s Gold into that request mix too – so, so funky

    • RIP Mani, way too young. Absolute legend on the bass guitar. Seeing the Roses live in 95 was a special experience. Second to any Stone Roses or Primal Scream.

  16. Hi Sebastian, you haven’t played this one in quite awhile but would love to hear, “Do you believe in angels in this big city” by No More. The original 1985 uptempo version. Thanks!

  17. Great Show!!! If you’re looking for some inspiration, I have a couple of suggestions for your upcoming covers episode:
Diddy Wah Diddy – 8 Eyed Spy
Judy In Disguise – Silicon Teens
    Sand – Einsteurzende Neubauten
In the Ghetto by Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds

  18. Oh…Faith Healer by Foetus In Exclesis Corruptus.

  19. Hey, Matt. So far, a great work being the D.J. on Dark Wave. Here’s some of my requests:

    1. “London Dungeon” The Misfits
    2. “X: The Man with X-Ray Eyes” Bauhaus
    3. “Gigolo” The Damned
    4. “Burning Inside (live)” Ministry
    5. “Get Down Make Love” Nine Inch Nails
    6. “Face to Face” Sioxusie & the Banshees

  20. Hey Matt,
Have you played any Raveonettes on the show? Any song from them would be greatly appreciated on my wife’s b’day week – thanks and cheers!

  21. Thanks for a great show, Matt! Looking forward to the covers. My recommendations for that show are some unusual suspects covering Dark Wave: Saint Etienne: Gary Numan’s “Stormtrooper in Drag,” Tanya Donelly: Smiths’ “Shoplifters,” Pet Shop Boys: Bowie’s “All The Young Dudes,” and Erasure: DM’s “Just Can’t Get Enough.” Thanks and enjoy the week!

  22. Many thanks to you Matt during this week of thanksgiving. We’re in Marseille, France right now and I wasn’t expecting to be able to listen this week but I’ve got the replay on for the second time already, thanks to those satellites. Hour 2 stole the show with the shoegaze block sandwiched by some other awesome tunes. Pretty awesome to hear Kick the Tragedy close the show too.

No request this week and thank you again for playing so many requests each week. Looking forward to the covers show!

Have a great week Matt, cheers!

  23. very very good stuff! Shoegaze block was a highlight along with that Gary Clail track.

There was a regional hit on Live105 circa ’90ish that’s been stuck in my head lately: Diesel Queens’ “O.S.H.” – a punk paean to the greatest hardware store. Might fit in a future punk block!

It’s been fun to see all the cover requests in the forum over the last few weeks!

  24. Hey Matt!

Thanks so much for spinning the Gary Clail !! … sounds like it was well received! “On U Sound in the Area” !! :)

So, I believe this week marks 2 years since Skinny Puppy wrapped up their “Final” Tour – I’ve been listening to them quite a bit, perhaps could you throw on Shorelined Poison, in either of its incredible incarnations (B-side “remix” preferred!). OR, the live version of Harsh Stone White… that’s a good one!

Cheers! … and Happy Thanksgiving !!

  25. Great list as always Matt. For a future show I need my Concrete Blonde fix. How about Heal It Up off the Mexican Moon album. Maybe fitting song for a holiday mood.

  26. Hi Matt,

I’m currently listening to the Adrian Borland release “Harmony & Destruction (The Unfinished Yourney)” remastered. Can you play “Summer Wheels?” Poignant lyrics.

    Thank you,
    Celia

  27. Great show. How about some Pink Industry empty beach next show? Thank you.
    Lugano-CL7
