“Dark Wave,” hosted by Slicing Up Eyeballs’ Matt Sebastian, explores the darker side of classic ’80s alternative, including vintage goth, post-punk and industrial. The shows airs at 10 p.m. to 1 a.m. Eastern every Sunday on Sirius XM satellite radio’s 1st Wave (Channel 33).
The most recent two episodes are also available to subscribers to stream via the Sirius XM app.
Got a request? Requests will be considered for future episodes as long as they fit the show’s format and fall generally within the 1st Wave era — and provided the host doesn’t harbor an intense dislike of the song. If there’s something you’d like to hear, drop it in the comments below.

Pardon the delay, but the Christmas show was spot on. That Wire son was new to me and will be immediately going into heavy rotation. Return of the shoegaze block was missed and well returned. Tonight was a ridiculously welcome treat to end the year. Going into the new year could we hear:
Joy Division- Shadowplay
You played it as a request, for the last song of 2021. I enjoyed another Joy Division closer. But Seriously though, tonight was one of your double plus good shows. Thank you for doing the Lord’s work.
Atmosphere was a beautiful way to end the last set of the year. Here to request some great deathrock somewhere down the line – Egypt by Voodoo Church.
Agree with Lana: Atmosphere was the perfect closer for this show. Great cuts in all hours. Thanks for the Bolshoi.
Hope you and yours have a Happy New Years. Looking forward to your show in 2025. Thanks and see ya.
Excellent last show for the year, Matt! Some songs that are new to me were great. Loved all three hours. Looking forward to the first show of the new year.
Last of the year but one of the best of the year, Matt! Hour 1 especially. Happy New Year!
Request: “Diary of a Young Man” Television Personalties
-Tony from Boston
Love that request Tony, Television Personalities are so good.
Thanks for the Chemlab, very welcome & the finish with Joy Division’s Atmosphere was just divine.
I have a request if possible, KMDFM – Godlike. They’ll know who it’s for:)
Thanks Matt for all the great Sunday nights.
Thanks for playing “Homosapien”!
What a wonderful show to end 2024! Loved the shoegaze (including one of my favorite Ride songs), Creatures, Pete Shelley, Wire… And as others mentioned, “Atmosphere” was a perfect choice for the closer.
A request for the new year:
David Bowie “I can’t give everything away”
Thanks. And wishing everyone a happy and healthy 2025!
Seconded! Great call Nicole, the perfect final track off Bowie’s sublime final album. And Bowie’s birthday is around the corner on Jan 8. Bowie and Elvis!
Matt, looking forward to your 2025 DW setlists. Cheers!
Minimal Man – Pull Back The Bolt (1984) Apple + qobuz
Helmet – Better (1992) Apple + qobuz
Superb set to close out 2024. I have to concur with everyone above who said that Atmosphere was the perfect closing song. Divine indeed. The return of the shoegaze blocks is always a treat. And you played a ton of requests yet again, including my Tones on Tail request. Thank you for always being so gracious, it is truly appreciated.
Request for a January show: “Smile” by The Fall.
Happy New Year Matt, cheers!
Wowza great program to end 2024 with….I loved all three hours – just perfect! Thank you for the Ministry and Skinny Puppy tracks I requested – both stellar early releases! I also agree on Atmosphere being the perfect send-off tune. Tho honestly (for me) it perfectly sums up a emotional, turbulent year. I’m crossing everything on my body that will cross that 2025 is better. At any rate….here are some possible suggestions for next time:
Blue Peter – Don’t Walk Past
Placebo – Life’s What You Make It (Talk Talk cover)
Tori Amos – Winter
Thanks again as always! 。◕‿◕。
Happiest of New Years fellow Dark Wavers!!!
The Wedding Present – So Long, Baby
Here’s to a great 2025! Shoegaze request: Pile-Up by Swervedriver.
Goth request: Resurrection – Sixth Communion by Christian Death. Industrial request – Jihad by The Sisterhood. Cheers!
Jihad isn’t industrial lol but I wanted to request that anyway. Industrial request: Body Count by Front Line Assembly
Great final show for ‘24! Looking forward to all in ‘25!
