  1. “Birdmad Girl” by the Cure for (the next after next) Sunday’s show

  2. Wintermute

Thanks for the playing my request, Matt! Now to the other side of the pond . . .

    TSOL, “Darker My Love”

  3. Great show. Salvations, Euroshima, and a great Shoegaze block gave Hour 2 the win.

Not sure if you’ve ever played this, or would want to play it, but what could be darker than a BeeGees cover? Would like to request The Overlords “Night Fever (Radio Edit)” for consideration on a future episode.

Thanks for a great start to my week. Hope yours goes well.

  4. August 11th is both a Dark Wave day and my birthday. Not sure how I’ll feel that day, so maybe “Winning” by The Sound or “One Hundred Years” by The Cure. Thanks!

  5. Can you play Boy Harsher, LA? For my beautiful wife Casey.

  6. I have a idea for a show all live songs. I don’t know if you would find that intriguing or not but if you find yourself wanting to do something out of the ordinary I think a exclusively only Live song show would be cool. Until then though I have a Live request by
the stranglers – I feel like a wog ( Live)
    off of Live(X Cert)
Thanks for a great show and the best radio show on siriusxm!

  7. Awesome set last night. Those Industrial blocks were blistering. And that had to be one of the all time great shoegaze blocks, wow. Thanks for playing Swervedriver, that track rips. New The The is really good, pumped for the new album and seeing them live in November. I think you closed the show with quite possibly Mr. Cave’s all time best song.

Those Creation bands in the shoegaze block got me thinking about a very underrated Creation label mate. How about “Destroy the Heart” by House of Love for a future show?

Have a great week Matt, cheers!

  8. Gary Numan – Bombers (Living Ornaments ’79)

  9. Can you play Stoned To Death by Zero Boys?

  10. Very very awesome Matt!! Hours 1&2 were especially top notch! Thanks for playing my Chapterhouse request….the shoegaze blocks are always soooo good!! I especially loved Dig It and Rope and New Rose!!! Some possible suggestions for next time:

    Alien Sex Fiend – R.I.P.
    The Cramps – Human Fly

    Thanks again as always!! 。◕‿◕。

I loved the shoe gaze & industrial blocks, The Damned, Bauhaus, Echo..,
I was streaming this episode while packing for my trip to Los Angeles…so once again, the Golden State is influencing my request for an upcoming show:
    The Weirdos “solitary confinement”

    • Please play Wolfsheim’s “The Sparrows and the Nightengales” please!!!! Love this show so much!!!! I’ve been a loyal follower of yours since I was a wee college student (FIT 2011) and got into this show via the early days of Slicing Up Eyeballs.

But I understand if you don’t thing GBV is darkwave material because most of their stuff isn’t but this song is. But If you still don’t want to play a GBV song I still understand and maybe you could play
Listen to the sirens by Tubeway Army

  15. Damn it would be awesome if you could play
JAMC’s cover of The 13th Floor Elevators
    Jesus and mary chain- reverberation(doubt)

  16. James . D

I would like to request my favorite song by The Dream Syndicate

I really dug your picks for Joy Division, My Bloody Valentine, Ride, Chapterhouse, Bauhaus, and Wire.

  17. The Darkside- Frankie Teardrop
This cover in my opinion is better than the original. It is off of the Suicide tribute album. My invitation to Suicide. Can you please play. Thanks

  18. Andi Sex Gang & Marc Almond – The Hungry Years (1983)
    Death – Freakin Out (1975)

  20. Hey Matt :),
Could you please play an old Controlled Bleeding song called “Mother”, featuring Rozz Williams on vocals. Industrial / Goth masterpiece from 1995

    Thank you,

  21. Somehow you knew that We Believe has been stuck in my head for the last week or so?? Thanks for playing that TKK request! IMO it’s the best off of confessions of a knife… amazing shoegaze block this week too.

For a future episode, Helter Skelter or ‘Psyche Out – Version 1’ (the dubby mix off the single) from MBM would be lovely, thanks!

  22. Ted Graves

Excellent choice of “Polar Bear” by Ride. Perhaps the best example of how the boys from Oxford used drums as a lead instrument. Loz is a genius. It’s a bit of a shame that he’s not allowed to fly (get dust on his hands from the sky) in more recent Ride efforts.

  23. Drifting, Falling. Ocean Blue. Tia

  24. Rockin’ show!

  25. Hi Matt
Really enjoyed the Shoegaze block you did with my favorites like My Bloody Valentine, Ride, Lush and Chaperhouse.

  26. Matt
I have a request for Ministry- Cold Life or Public Image Limited- Rules and Regulations

  27. Please play Wolfsheim’s “The Sparrows and the Nightengales” please!!!! Love this show so much!!!! I’ve been a loyal follower of yours since I was a wee college student (FIT 2011) and got into this show via the early days of Slicing Up Eyeballs.

  28. Marcus Singleton

    Hello Matt,

Thank you for bringing the best in “Dark Waves” every Sunday night on Sirius XM.

I started listening to you two years ago when Richard Blade mentioned Dark Waves and I knew this is the show where I need to be.

I have always been a Dark Waves concert goer in the 80’s and it is all I listen to.

I have a two personal request for:
    1. Th’ Faith Healers – “Everything, All at Once Forever”
    2. Bleach – “First & Last”

Thank you again Matt for all that you do and for cranking out the Dark Waves tunes.
    Marcus S.

  29. I have been listening for years. To say that I this show is the understatement of understatements. I have never felt the need to request a song because I love to be surprised with every track, and yet, here I am. Can you please play “Perfect Murder” by the Glove? Thank you for all you do…

  30. Cameron Stormes

Peter Murphys ‘Marlene Dietrich’s Favourite Poem’

    Thanks Matt

  31. Thanks for introducing me to Salvation. Loved that.
