  1. I appreciated The Sound request and thank you for introducing me to that awesome The The track. No Word’s was such an upbeat moody treat this evening. You played some real good ones tonight and I couldn’t be happier with the wealth of Bowie you’ve been playing, but I find myself yet again noticing a void that exists within the show; a dangerous lack of Madonna. So, could we please hear:

    Bigod 20- Like a Prayer

That last hour was a fun ride, I picked up quite a few new favorites. Thank you for doing the Lord’s work.

  2. “Cccan’t You See” by Vicious Pink for (the next after next) Sunday’s show

  3. Thirlwell99

Nice playlist, Matt. As usual, you’ve turned me on to bands I never even knew existed. My request for next week—keep on keepin’ on!

  4. Great show tonight and last week! Please play
    Joy division – Eternal

    Thank you

  5. Hey Matt. I look forward to the show every week. Hoping to hear the song Anyday Now by Cop Shoot Cop. I thought the album Release wasn’t appreciated enough back in the day. Thanks for playing some amazing playlists every Sunday.

  6. Great to hear something from the just say yes collection. Figures on a Beach were a curious lot. They weren’t from Boston but they played around town a lot and that was where they were discovered.

    Nice variety this week.

  7. Brilliant choice picking “No Words No More” from Love and Rockets. That’s a great track. And following it up with Dalis Car – very clever.

I have no requests this week. Simply a Thank You once again for providing a great playlist. Have a great week!

  8. Suede – She’s Not Dead

  9. Catherine

    I enjoyed hour 3 Matt.
Love Spit Love- How Soon is Now

  10. Really fun show last night. That stretch in hour 3 from Propaganda to Foreign Affair was all songs I’d never heard before. Have to give the nod to hour 1 with new The The (love the new track and already bought tickets for the Oakland show), and anytime we get some Suede that is going to be a tough hour to beat (great request Xtina!). We are visiting friends in Massachusetts right now and road tripping up to Montreal tomorrow, already looking forward to the replay on the drive.

How about some darkwave funk with A Certain Ratio on an upcoming show? I’m thinking “Waterline” or “Knife Slits Water” but am happy to defer to dealer’s choice.

Have a great week Matt, cheers!

  11. The Cure – From the Edge of the Deep Green Sea

  12. A Certain Ratio – Wild Party (12″ Version) (1985)
    Alisa – I Want To Be A Prostitute (1982)

  13. Hello Matt happy Monday to you!! Thank you for playing my MBV request…. love that one. I really enjoyed hour one this week — but a really great mix of different selections this go around. Some possible suggestions for next time:

OMD – (Forever) Live and Die
Peter Murphy – Vast Ocean Deep Sea
Love and Rockets – Mirror People

Speaking of L&R I’m so excited to have purchased tickets in Toronto for their upcoming tour!! I do not believe I’ve ever seen them live!! I saw Jane’s in ’91 or ’92 with Henry Rollins.

    Thanks again as always!! 。◕‿◕。

  14. Great set!
I have a few requests for future shows
    Love and Rockets – Motorcycle
    Specimen – Dead Man’s Autochop
Nightmares in Wax – Black Leather

  15. Enjoyed each hour!

    Here are some requests –

Gang of Four – If I Could Keep It All For Myself
    Comsat Angels – Dark Parade

    Thanks!

  16. long live shoegaze

  17. Thank you for playing my David Bowie request – it flowed nicely from the preceding Gahan, Bauhaus tracks! PIL, Suede, Cabaret Voltaire and The The were all highlights for me.

Side note: I was in NYC this weekend and had the good fortune to meet Patti Smith. She was incredibly kind, gracious and cool! I’m still on cloud nine from my chance encounter with a personal icon…Hence my request for an upcoming show: “Dancing Barefoot”

  18. Matt looking forward to hearing These Hands- The Damned. Have a great week all.

  19. Hey Matt!

Thanks for playing the Chameleons track! The Strange Times tour is soooo awesome… never dreamed that I would get to hear that *entire* set list live from them! Will def look forward to you playing stuff from their new single this next week as you mentioned (FYI they were selling those, also ‘remastered’ Strange Times vinyl as well, at their recent LA show – but I spent my extra cash on t-shirts/hoodie haha).

Also noteworthy: just found out Clan of Xymox is headed out on another tour (and actually to the very same LA venue) in late June – just a few weeks away! I think their new album is set for Friday June 7th release. Can’t wait!!

    Cheers

  20. Great show, as usual. Can you please play Amnesia by Portion Control? Thanks!

  21. Constantine

    Request:
It’s not from the 80’s, but it should be !!

    “She” by Clan of Xymox

  22. Thanks for the Foreign Affair request. Always a good show when you can hear Mr. Murphy singing leads on three songs.
Thanks for the great music. Have a good rest of your week.

  23. Another good set with some favorites from a killing Joke, P I L, Chapter House and Propaganda adding to my playlist.

I would like to request some upbeat tunes from either
The Call – Everywhere I Go or Killing Joke – Chop Chop

  24. Lindsey L.

Awesome show, Matt! It was wonderful to hear Cognitive Dissident – very excited to see The The live! I also loved the selections from Dave Gahan, Lords of The New Church, and Ian McCulloch. Always great to hear Ultravox as well. Hope you’ve all been having a great week – looking forward to next Sunday’s communion! :D <3

  25. Excellent show as usual!

A few requests: Christf*ck (maybe not possible but tossing it out there anyway?!) by Wumpscut, Skinny Puppy’s Dig It, & Sheila Likes the Rodeo by the Tear Garden? Thanks for keeping the dark alive! hehe

  26. Great show as always, Matt! Thank you so much for playing Figures on the Beach-No Stars. This song brought back great memories.
I would love it if you played Yaz–Winter Kills.
If that doesn’t fit you show, how about Camouflage–Love is a Shield.
    Yours in Darkness!!!

  27. I love the show Matt. I was wondering if you can play one of my favorite songs ever, “Patient” by Corpus Delicti? Thank you!
