Billy Idol followed up his appearance last weekend at the Cruel World festival by announcing a new run of U.S. tour dates later this year, but not before he performs in Europe this summer as part of Generation Sex, a punk supergroup featuring Idol’s Generation X bandmate Tony James and the Sex Pistols’ Steve Jones and Paul Cook.
That Generation Sex tour — which will see the supergroup performing songs by both Generation X and the Sex Pistols — includes 11 festival dates and headlining shows in June and July.
Idol will follow that up with a new run of U.S. headlining shows in August and September, plus a Las Vegas residency in October. Those shows will find Idol backed by his longtime band, including guitarist Steve Stevens.
Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. local time Thursday, May 25. Head over to billyidol.net for full ticketing details.
Idol has released a pair of new EPs in the last two years, including 2022’s The Cage and 2021’s The Roadside. And last month, he played what’s being billed as the first-ever concert at the Hoover Dam on the Nevada/Arizona border, a set that was filmed for theatrical release later this year.
