Loved tonight’s episode, Matt!
“Love and Kisses” by Altered Images
Those tracks from Slowdive and Pale Saints made my night.
Since May 4th will mark the 41st anniversary of the Pornography album, how about “The Figurehead” by The Cure?
Second this!
And a third! Great track.
Hey Matt – always love the early Modern English (their ‘4AD’ days!). Thanks for that, and for playing Christian Death! Speaking of older labels – feel like it’s a good time for an ‘SST’ request! How about “Magick Power” by Opal?
Cheers
The Sun and the Rainfall, Depeche …please
Another fantastic show. How about Grey cell green by Ned Atomic Dust Bin. Thanks!!
I’m over the moon with happiness that you played all aspects of Daniel Ash’s career – solo, Bauhaus, Tones, and Love & Rockets. That’s phenomenal! I’ve got another Love & Rockets request. (I’m sure you’re not surprised!) How about “Holy Fool” from the Lift album?
Thanks for all you do!
That was a helluva first hour and starting off with Mission if Burma? Perfect indeed!
Hey Matt, great show as always. There is this compilation album called Scream from Geffen records. Some notables on it include Jane’s Addiction and TSOL. I would like to request “Wave of Darkness (Highway 99)” by Human Drama. Some alternates: “Grey Talk” by Francis X and the Bushmen or “Something Inside Me Has Died” by Kommunity FK. Thanks!
Cracking show Matt! That first hour was particularly awesome, loved the extended post punk block. Fabulous shoegaze block as well, always a crowd pleaser. Can’t leave out that stellar third hour as well, the dance block had me movin. And anytime we get Bauhaus, Tones on Tail, Love and Rockets, and a Daniel Ash solo track, you’re just spoiling us. Bless you. Thanks a bunch for the JAMC track, that’s probably my all time fave song of theirs, so good.
Request for next week, how about some A Certain Ratio? “Do the Du (Casse)”
Have a great week, cheers!
Excellent blocks!
Here are some requests –
Simple Minds – Constantinople Line
Pixies – I Bleed
Thanks!
Swervedriver – Never Lose That Feeling
Awesome show! Could you play Daniel Ash – Spooky? Thank you so much and have a great week!
What a great show that you did yesterday Matt. I would like to hear Siouxsie and the banshees Helter skelter.
Wow Matt this week’s installment was absolutely perfect… honestly…from beginning to end …will be listening several more times this week! Thank you so much for the SP track…one of my favorites! Some possible suggestions for next time:
The Airborne Toxic Event – Sometime Around Midnight (honestly one of the most emotional songs I’ve ever heard)…
NIN – Something I Can Never Have
TJ&MC – Sometimes Always
This concludes my ‘Some’ theme!!
Thanks as always!! 。◕‿◕。
A wonderful music selection as always. I always try to the more obscure songs to see if you play them, and you do. Thank you for that. Here is one I would love to hear, The Cabinet by Das Kabinette. Need to here some hypnotic synth and drum kit from the 80’s. Thanks, Matt, for all you play on Sundays.
Haven’t had a chance to listen to this one yet, but the playlist looks fantastic. Can’t wait.
Would like to request some Pink Industry please. “What I Wouldn’t Give” or “Is This The End?” maybe.
Thanks. And have a great week.
My favorite is “The Corpse” (Absolute remix)
Absolute was an early Soleilmoon compilation and where i first heard of Pink Industry. Remember djs trying to pry that cd away!
The Corpse was the fourth on my list actually. That is great remix.
Matt- thanks for the Misfits. Hour 3 was amazing! Intruder…Damned. Gotta love it. Have a super week.
Noticed Robert Blake passed away earlier this month. What a shit show that trial was- Bonny Lee Blakley. One of the earlier shit show trials. Wasn’t Robert Blake kinda like OJ Simpson- but for wierdos?
Didn’t seem like he was “acting” at all in Lost Highway. Creepy.
Barry Adamson “Something Wicked This Way Comes”
Barry is THE man, y’all. Look up “smooth” in the dictionary and surely this song is the very definition. A little dark jazz will do you some good.
Barry Adamson is such a good call. Lost Highway is a phenomenal film (admittedly I am biased as a massive David Lynch fan) with a killer soundtrack, pun intended. Blake is super creepy as The Mystery Man. The Bowie and NIN tracks are super good too. The whole damn soundtrack is super good. Thanks the reminder us Nathan J!
Lost Highway was a monster soundtrack. Natural Born Killers, too. Same time period. Those records incorporated samples and made the soundtrack it’s own unique experience.
Looks like I’m in a similar situation as you were- got this Ministry/Numan/FLA show this weekend and the family is held up here at the hacienda with covid! We are covid virgins so this is all new to us. Hopefully we’ll be OK by then…
Oh no, that sucks! Sending positive vibes to you and your family for a speedy recovery.
High fidelity episode!
This week’s Darkness Award:
LaTour, “Allen’s Got a New Hi-Fi”
“The floor starts to crack, and the couch attacks, and the TV set goes BOOM, BOOM, BOOM”
all great stuff! …the highlight was the 1-2 punch of Faster Than Light into These Remains. Early TKK at their best and the Lead into Gold got me even more stoked to see them and Skinny Puppy in a few weeks. Thanks, listening again now!
Great show! Really enjoyed the mini shoe gaze set. Always enjoy hearing The Cranes.
this was so good. thank you
