Pioneering electronic music act Cabaret Voltaire — now just co-founder Richard H. Kirk — has debuted a third song off its first new album in 26 years, an eight-song collection called Shadow of Fear that’s due to be released this Friday via Mute Records.
The song “What’s Goin’ On” — which you can hear above — follows the release of first single “Vasto” in August and follow-up “The Power (Of Their Knowledge)” in October.
Shadow of Fear, the band’s first album since 1994’s The Conversation, is can be pre-ordered now via Amazon.com or through the band’s own online shop in a variety of different bundles.
Co-founded by Kirk, Stephen Mallinder and Chris Watson, Cabaret Voltaire originally was active between 1973 and 1994. Watson left in 1981 and Mallinder has not been involved since the group became inactive in 1994. Kirk resurrected Cabaret Voltaire in 2014 for a live performance at Berlin’s Atonal festival.
