The Violent Femmes are back with the second single off their upcoming full-length Hotel Last Resort, the band’s 10th studio album and first in three years — and the first recorded by the group’s new four-piece lineup. Check out “Another Chorus” below.
The album is due out July 26, and can be pre-ordered now via online outlets.
The Femmes — original members Gordon Gano and Brian Ritchie, now joined by longtime Horns of Dilemma members John Sparrow and Blaise Garza — recorded the 13-track album in Denver, enlisting help from both Television guitarist Tom Verlaine and pro skateboarder Stefan Janoski, who sings a “rambunctious” new version of “I’m Nothing” off 1994’s New Times.
Gano says of the new song:
“‘Another Chorus’ is one of two songs on the new album that was written a week or two before going into the studio. No one in the band had heard the song, and we hadn’t played it before recording it. When we were recording it, the general feeling was that there’s something here, and after recording what we thought was the take, our producer Ted Hutt implored us to revisit it because something was missing, and I’m glad we did.”

Damn. 0 and 2. Too much like Blind Leading the Naked.
Oof, hard to get through. Sounds like bad Weezer (which itself is redundant these days).
