Here’s a preview of the new box set from Yazoo – the classic synthpop duo of Alison Moyet and Vince Clarke that was christened Yaz in the U.S. – that arrives this fall, a remix of the classic 1982 single “Situation” by contemporary producer Richard X. You can stream the track below.
Yazoo will release the 4-disc Four Pieces box set on Oct. 26, and it will include the group’s two albums, plus remixes and BBC radio sessions. It will be released on heavyweight vinyl, CD and digital formats. At the moment, only the vinyl edition is available for pre-order.
The first two discs consist of Yazoo’s two albums, 1982’s Upstairs at Eric’s and 1983’s You and Me Both. The third disc, dubbed Eight Remixes, contains, yes, eight remixes, including a previously unreleased remix of “Winter Kills” by Minute Taker. And Disc 4 features two separate BBC sessions recorded in 1982 for John Peel and David Jensen, most of which is previously unreleased.
PREVIOUSLY ON SLICING UP EYEBALLS
- Yazoo’s upcoming ‘Four Pieces’ box set to be released on CD, too, after fan outcry
- Yazoo collects studio albums, remixes and BBC sessions on new ‘Four Pieces’ vinyl box
- Yazoo to include ‘Get Set,’ unreleased ’83 track, with ‘Reconnected Live’ on iTunes
Meh — Remix fail. The first minute is a complete waste and uninteresting. The rest is missing key sounds. The original is better.
Go on u tube and listen to donna summer i feel love VS situation with yaz highly recommended
