Johnny Marr has been documenting the recording of his third solo album on social media of late, and today the former guitarist for The Smiths revealed the upcoming LP’s title: Call the Comet. It’s not yet known when the album will arrive, though Marr tweeted “news coming soon.”
Marr also encouraged fans to sign up for the mailing list at johnnymarr.com ahead of the full announcement.
After spending much of his post-Smiths career as a sideman in other bands (The The, Modest Mouse, The Cribs) and working with Bernard Sumner in Electronic, Marr began releasing albums under his own name in the 2000s, first as Johnny Marr and the Healers in 2003, then true solo albums The Messenger in 2013 and Playland in 2014. He also released the live album Adrenalin Baby in 2015.
Album 3. Call The Comet.
News coming soon.
