The reunited Midnight Oil is back in the U.S. for a short second round of dates on its Great Circle 2017 world tour, a run of shows that brought the band to New York City’s Terminal 5 on Aug. 21 — a date that would have been the late Joe Strummer’s 65th birthday.
To mark the occasion, the Oils segued from a performance of “Truganini” right into a fevered cover of The Clash’s “London Calling,” a fitting marriage of two politically minded bands.
Check out that performance below via YouTube uploader Luis Lopez.
The Oils wrap up their short U.S. encore tonight in Minneapolis.

Welcome back fellas — the world needs you these days.
To all the Brits that didn’t see the oils live in London in July you missed one of the best bands on the planet. British media failed to catch on in the 80ts but some of us did and still do get them they are brilliant live hope to see them again one day.
Would LOVE to get a new studio album.
LOVE THE OILS, LOVE THE CLASH. THANK YOU!
