Sad Lovers & Giants look back with 5-disc ‘Where the Light Shines Through’ box set

Long-running British post-punk act Sad Lovers & Giants next month will release a 5-disc box set that’s being billed as the first comprehensive anthology of the group’s music, covering the band’s different lineups through the 1980s and beyond across the set’s 89 tracks.

Cherry Red Records will release Where the Light Shines Through 1981-2017 on April 28 in the U.K.

The box set includes a disc of singles; a disc covering the band’s original lineup, which recorded 1982’s Epic Garden Music and 1983’s Feeding the Flame; two discs covering the lineup that recorded 1987’s The Mirror Test, 1990’s Headland and 1991’s Treehouse Party; plus a fifth disc of odds and ends, including a John Peel session the band recorded in 1981.

Sad Lovers & Giants remains active, having toured North America last year.
