The Jesus and Mary Chain have announced the first of hopefully many U.S. performances of their classic 1985 noise-pop debut Psychocandy in the form of an appearance next May at the Austin Psych Fest’s three-day Levitation festival. JAMC will play the album in full on a bill that also features The Flaming Lips, Spiritualized and Primal Scream.
The U.S. appearance, sometime during the May 8-10 weekend, follows a handful of U.K. dates last month plus a newly announced nine-date U.K. run in February. The band previously has promised “2015 will see a year of activity for the 30th anniversary of Psychocandy.”
Tickets for the Austin, Texas, festival are available now.

Yes! The first of many US shows let’s hope. Also, nice lineup with spiritualized and primal scream.
So Primal Scream there too…Does that mean we might see Bobby on drums for JAMC?
