Morrissey reschedules Baltimore, Washington D.C. dates on advice of his medical team

Morrissey

After canceling one concert and postponing another, Morrissey resumed his U.S. tour this past Saturday in Boston — but it was a short-lived return to the road. The next two dates on Moz’s itinerary, concerts planned for Tuesday night in Baltimore and Wednesday in Washington, D.C., have now been postponed until late June, according to promoters.

According to the Facebook page of the 9:30 Club, the two concerts have been postponed until June 24 and 25 “at the advice of Morrissey’s medical team.” It’s not clear whether further postponements are in the cards; as of now, Morrissey’s tour will resume Friday night in Chicago.

See the new dates below.

Last week, Morrissey canceled his Atlanta concert — the fourth time he’s done that there since 2012 — and rescheduled an Atlantic City concert after promoters said, “Morrissey and the touring crew have come down with a virus.” No reason has been given for the lack of a new Atlanta date.

The new cancellations follow Morrissey’s disastrous attempts to tour both North and South America last year, which resulted repeated reschedulings and cancellations.

  1. Too bad, I saw the Boston show, he was completely engaged and in great voice, he did to appear to have a slight cough (or he was clearing his throat many times). It was a great show, 3 Smiths songs: “Queen is Dead,” “Asleep” and “Meat is Murder.” Also, he leaned on his new, unreleased album and deeper catalog cuts. His band is amazing.

Thanks for the review Vaughn, I had tickets to the Atlantic City show he postponed. At least he rescheduled, his last tour he also cancelled AC and didn’t reschedule.
And .. at least we get 3 Smiths songs ..

  2. he’s such a pussy! his St Pete show was a disaster, what the shit do i care about PETA. I made sure i booed him as loud as i could when that stoopid video came out, i paid good money for a concert not for his views. also he didnt play any of this old tunes.

  3. Tried to see him numerous times since 1991 and he’s cancelled every time. No one cancels a show quite like Moz.

I totally agree with slip above, the St Pete concert was a total disappoint and let down. I have never left a show thinking, ok, that was it? And yes the slaughter house films should have been kept in his own private collection and not made into his performance. I will never pay to see him again….

So much time wasted. Dear God! It’s been nearly 30 years since the Smiths broke up and no reunion. If we are to believe the reports about Moz’s health, time is running out. So maybe we shouldn’t concern ourselves with the caliber of Morrisey’s solo shows, but rather with urging this obstinate ass to call Marr!!!!

  6. If you don’t like the PETA message I’d skip a Pretenders show also.

  7. Psych Team

Medical _TEAM_? The dude neads a whole team???? how does he even get out of bed????

    PS Yes, fuck PETA.

  8. Dear Moz,

Maybe you weren’t cut out to be a rock star. I’m of the mind that you’re better suited to be an angry-yet-ironically-fragile, elderly British woman.

    Just a thought,

    — Sam
