Mark Burgess this week announced a spring tour that will find ChameleonsVox — the latest incarnation of post-punk favorites The Chameleons — performing 1983 debut album Script of the Bridge in its entirety at more than a dozen shows in the U.K. and another nine in mainland Europe, with more dates promised to follow.
The tour opens with concerts in late April and early May in Spain, Portugal, Italy, Switzerland and Belgium, with Burgess writing on his blog that more shows in Spain and southern France are to be added. After that, the band will perform the Chameleons’ debut at 13 shows across the U.K. from May 15 through 27.
The tour follows the release last fall of M+D=1(8), an EP featuring three new original songs — “Sycophants, “Heaven” and “Feel the Need” — plus a cover of The Beatles classic “Across the Universe.” Burgess now says he’s working on a full-length ChameleonsVox album.
