The Cure tonight announced a second concert at London’s famed Royal Albert Hall this March as part of the 14th annual Teenage Cancer Trust charity concert series “due to phenomenal demand,” saying the band’s first show sold out on pre-sales alone, ahead of Friday’s planned public on-sale. The Cure will now play RAH on March 28 in addition to the previously announced March 29 show; tickets for the new concert go on sale 9:30 a.m. London time on Friday.

I wish they would do a standard US tour and not just random festivals.
Me too!
While I definitely agree with the TOUR THE USA ALREADY sentiment, it is pretty awesome of the band to do these charity shows. They would make great live albums, with the proceeds going to the charity as well. Hint hint Robert…
@GlorytoBabylon – I wish they would too. Unfortunately it has gotten so expensive for bands to mount large tours on another continent that they tend to hit up the festivals to keep costs down and get paid. They tour much more extensively in Europe due to this. Plus they just don’t fill large arenas in the US anymore which means they would have to play a lot shows to justify the cost, they may be getting to old for that slog these days.
Can’t attend, but I’d love to get the playlist for these shows so I can dream about being there.
I’ll add to the sentiment here; gentlemen PLEASE come back to the US! I saw their last 2 shows in Colorado, including them selling out Red Rocks. As long as they stuck with venues under 15-20,000 they’ll have full houses. Also, The Warped Tour still travels the nation each summer and plays to festival-sized crowds so maybe a good agent could persuade them to give it a shot; they’d only have to play 1 hour sets instead of 3!!
