Gary Numan this week debuted the first single off his long-in-the-works album Splinter — his first studio album in seven years, which has now received an added parenthetical (Songs From a Broken Mind) to its title — in advance of his upcoming U.S tour and dates with Nine Inch Nails.
The House of Love’s Creation Records debut — the second of three eponymous releases from the U.K. indie band — will be reissued this November in a limited-edition box set featuring 50 tracks spread over five LPs pressed on 180-gram audiophile vinyl, Optic Nerve announced this week.
To mark the occasion, Depeche Mode has debuted a new Archives Special on its website, a 5 1/2-minute reel compiled by webmaster Daniel Barassi that features rare performance footage of “Policy of Truth” from that July 31, 1993, concert, plus clips of “120 Minutes” host Lewis Largent interviewing each member of the band.
Kitchens of Distinction today revealed the title (Folly), artwork and tracklist of its first new studio album in 19 years — the band ‘s fifth overall and first since 1994′s Cowboys and Aliens — which is due out Sept. 30 and is now available for pre-order from 3 Loop Music in a variety of CD, LP and digital packages.

Universal Music today announced that the forthcoming 20th anniversary reissue of Nirvana’s third and final album, 1993’s In Utero, will be released in multiple formats on Sept. 24, including a 3CD/1DVD “Super Deluxe Edition” box set that will feature more than 70 “remastered, remixed, rare, unreleased and live recordings.”
