The Replacements Live Archive Project — a tremendous resource for ‘Mats fans — already has shared a full recording of last night’s historic set by The Replacements at Riot Fest in Toronto, the band’s first in 22 years. Now, while it is an audience recording, it’s actually surprisingly good.

The Cure continues to sporadically drop new fall tour dates, with the latest being an arena concert booked for the University of Texas at El Paso on Oct. 10 during the week between Robert Smith and Co.’s two headlining appearances at the Austin City Limits Music Festival.

This week’s new releases include the first Suburbs album in 27 years, the U.S. release of Ministry’s new live album, a new best-of from Tears For Fears, a super-limited pressing of The Godfathers’ reunion album ‘Jukebox Fury’ on red vinyl, and a collection of rarities from ska act Bad Manners.

A little after 8:45 p.m. EDT tonight, the long-sought, little-believed reunion of The Replacements — in this case, Paul Westerberg and Tommy Stinson, plus Josh Freese and David Minehan — took the stage at Riot Fest in Toronto, delivering career-spanning in the band’s first performance in 22 years.

Tonight’s edition of “Dark Wave” on Sirius XM’s 1st Wave featured new music from The Mission, Front Line Assembly and New Model Army, plus old favorites by Specimen, Au Pairs, Clan of Xymox, 1,000 Homo DJs, Camouflage, Alien Sex Fiend and much, much more.
