For this week’s installment of Vintage Video, we head Down Under for this nine-song, 30-minute performance by The Go-Betweens on Australian television show “Rock Arena” that aired in December 1987, about six months after the release of the band’s fifth album, ‘Tallulah.’

Echo & The Bunnymen’s 1980 debut album ‘Crocodiles’ will be reissued for Record Store Day in a new 180-gram audiophile pressing on red vinyl by reissue specialist Vinyl 180, the label announced in an e-mail newsletter this week. It’s not yet known whether it will be a U.K.-only release or also put out in the U.S.

Johnny Marr was feted at the NME Awards in London on Wednesday night, winning the music mag’s “Godlike Genius” award and then taking the stage to perform tracks off his solo album and a couple Smiths classics — including “How Soon Is Now?,” for which he was joined by Ronnie Wood of The Rolling Stones.

Naturally, late night host Jimmy Kimmel took the opportunity last night to poke a little fun at Morrissey after the ex-Smiths singer canceled his appearance on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” by saying he could not appear on the same program as the “animal serial killers” from the A&E reality series “Duck Dynasty.”

Crime and the City Solution — which, during the ’80s, included members of The Birthday Party, Swell Maps and Einstürzende Neubauten — will release its first new album in 23 years next month, and they’ve just dropped the first video from the record, a clip for opening track “Goddess,” which you can see right here.

The Songs for Slim benefit EP from The Replacements hits radio and digital outlets next week, but the first taste of the in-studio reunion hit the web today, thanks to Pitchfork’s premiere of the new ‘Mats cover of Gordon Lightfoot’s “I’m Not Sayin'” — one of four cover songs recorded by Paul Westerberg and Tommy Stinson.
