  1. Nice playlist. However, I’ve noticed that the same big name bands show up over and over again: New Order, Bauhaus, The Smiths, Joy Division, The Cure, etc. They’re in every show. Why not start reaching deeper in the crate, instead of playing minor songs by big bands? How about some minimal synth (e.g., Iron Curtain) and EBM? Or second-tier goth bands? There are literally thousands of good to great songs out there by bands that you never play.

  2. Yes, they certainly do. My goal is to mix those “core” bands — which are, for a number of people who listen to the show, the main attraction — with more varied and somewhat obscure stuff.

Before I started hosting “Dark Wave,” you’d usually see those bands played 2 even 3 times per show, and generally the same small group of songs from them. So I try to draw from throughout those bands’ catalogs, while mixing in a far more diverse set of bands than previously had been played on the show.

For example, I have played Iron Curtain, and will be happy play more from them. If you’ve got any other specific requests/suggestions, by all means, let me know…

  3. Another great show!

How about Soft Cell’s ‘The Girl With The Patent Leather Face’?

Happens to be my favorite Soft Cell track, and my second favorite track on the Some Bizarre album behind Illustration’s Tidal Flow (which would be another cool track to hear).

    Thanks

    Ed
