Peter Hook’s North American tour gets underway tonight in Boston — he’ll be performing New Order’s first two albums, 1981′s Movement and 1983′s Power, Corruptions & Lies, in their entirety each night — and the bassist is using the occasion to drop by “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon” when the trek hits New York. But instead of a regular performance, Hook sit in with Fallon’s house band, The Roots, on Thursday night, playing bass with the group throughout the show.

Is that you Barney?
I do! Too bad I will be on the road and will miss the SFO date.
You do, as evidenced by your comment!
Saw the Boston show last night. Went in with low expectations, and came out impressed. Let’s face it, NO was rarely a good show. This was an opportunity to see the best period without the drama and lackluster performance.
