Gibby Haynes and his acid-fried psych-punk compadres Butthole Surfers this fall will reissue their first four full-length albums — 1984’s Psychic… Powerless… Another Man’s Sac, 1986’s Rembrandt Pussyhorse, 1987’s Locust Abortion Technician and 1988’s Hairway to Steven — on vinyl for the first time since their original Touch and Go Records pressings.
The vinyl reissues are due out Oct. 1 via the band’s own Latino Bugger Veil label, and while none feature bonus tracks or expanded material, each LP will come with a free digital download.
According to the label’s one-sheet announcing details of the forthcoming vinyl reissues, “these classic and influential LPs capture the band at their peak, drawing from punk, rock, psychedelic and experimental influences for a truly inspired and unmistakably unique sound.”
