And before anybody goes “oh my god, they’re playing STATE FAIRS?” — our State Fair is DIFFERENT than other State Fairs. We take it very seriously. Yeah, it’s weird. But it’s true.
You can overlook that it’s a state fair, but it’s still Minnesota!! :-P
I’m not from Minnesota but every time I’ve been there I’ve had a good time. So good for you Minnesota. Have the coolest state fair concert ever.
They play State Fairs???? HAHAHA! JK!
The fact that it is taking this long for a thrid sigle shows how weak Delta M. is. Here is hoping they get their creative act together for the next CD if there is one. If they cannot make a good CD please call it a day.
agreed.
Disagree!!! I think this album is not weak at all.
This is the first tour since music for the masses in 1988 that I am not going to… I bought tickets for the show during the presale before the album came out but once I listened to the album multiple times I realize this was not a tour I wanted to see… Sold my tickets and have not regretted it
I hear you and I’m in the same boat. First DM tour I am choosing to miss out on and I really couldn’t care less.
ATL 9/12 bitches!!!!!
Saw the new tour in Europe twice this year, was amazing one of the best. Great to hear Martin sing songs like Somebody, Higher Love & Home. Oh and Halo!
The new album is a real grower for me, some amazing songs on there.
I think I’ve heard him do those on every single tour since the Singles ’98 tour.
Why would you put your name as “Devotee”? Based on your comments, you are not even half the Devotee than most fans are.
A true Devotee would go see the show no matter how bad an album would be.
I personally like the album, but even if I didn’t, i’d still go see my favorite band in the world play live music.
Pass.
The Fact that it took so long for the 3rd single to come out means how well it is doing….Not the other way around. The 2nd single was doing better than exspected (sp) so this video was delayed. Get your info right
Cringeworthy. A poor song coupled with the fact that they cannot even perform it well – Dave can’t hit the high notes (and repeating it a dozen times in the song does not a stylistic choice make).
Oh, how the mighty have fallen.
The new album is just like all of them since Ultra…half good, half not. That’s just the way it goes now. I am seeing them in Toronto 9/1 and I’m totally psyched to be going with my wife and 4 friends. Enjoy DM while you can, my friends!
Saw DM in Detroit last night, and it was awesome! Huge crowd in attendance. Even if you aren’t crazy about Delta Machine, these guys always put on a good show. The backdrop visuals were cool, too!
But it’s the same catalog over and over and over again. And visuals are not worth the price of admin.
I LOVED Sounds/Universe, but this one I can’t get into.
Thank for this fair perspective. I want to see them live tonight in Chicago even if ‘Delta Machine’ isn’t their best record.
This sounds better than the last record to me, but I have not heard Delta Machine yet. That said, I thought that Sounds of the Universe was rather poor.
The setlist is banal, and pretty the same songs they play every tour with very few exceptions. The only ‘outside the box’ songs are the accoustic versions by Gore. But who wants to hear them accoustic? I want the full, electronic version of ‘But Not Tonight’, not the watered down version.
I also noticed DM cut 2 songs from the NA tour. Typical.
DM are pretty much done after this; two shit albums in a row, and the same ‘greatest hits’ setlist again and again. They just need to end it.
Speak for yourself… your individual opinion does not make the album shit. Everyone has their own taste and I will not argue about your opinion. I personally love this album and I think it is great.
As for the tour being the same setlist… They do play some songs over and over again, but that’s just how all bands do, they always include their most popular songs on tour.
If you want them to play what you personally would like, then pay up some big $$$ and ask them to put on a private show for you.

I wish they would have a special tickets sale with best seats in the house available only to true Devotees.
It is so unfair how the best tickets go to the people who have the most $$$, and some of them are not even fans.
Went from Dallas to Atlanta to see DM. It was my 3rd time, it was the best one yet. Can’t wait to see them in Dallas on the 20th. If you sold your tickets, and don’t regret it, good for you. If I could afford it, would see them in LA also. Or Austin. Awesome band.
