Former Smiths guitarist Johnny Marr today debuted the video for the latest single off his new solo album The Messenger, a moody, black-and-white clip for “New Town Velocity” that features a lot of walking, both backwards and forwards. You can check out the video below via ShortList.com, where it premiered earlier today.
“New Town Velocity” will be released as a single July 22 digitally and as a limited-edition 7-inch in the U.K. You can also check out B-side “The It-Switch,” which is currently streaming over at Pitchfork.
Additionally, Marr late last week announced a new 18-date tour of the U.S. this fall.
