David Bowie tonight debuted the video for the third single off his from-out-of-nowhere album The Next Day, following up the Tilda Swinton-starring clip for “The Stars (Ar Out Tonight)” with a video for the album’s title track that stars Gary Oldman and Marion Cotillard, and features partial nudity, disembodied eyeballs, heavy religious iconography and the stigmata.
And that’s all before it concludes with Bowie saying, “Thank you, Gary. Thank you, Marion. Thank you, everybody,” and then vanishing as he’d ascended into heaven.

Nothing will top Marion’s death scene in The Dark Knight Rises…
YouTube’s cowardice demonstrates yet another reason why we
should not cede control of our communications to corporate
interests. They dumped the video not because of the stage blood or
brass pasties, but because they’re afraid of the political
repercussions of the message of this video.
I take it the problem YouTube has is cassocks. The word just sounds dirty. But seriously, this is such a retro/80s-like video (which I dig), how can this be banned?
