A brand-new Simple Minds single — “Broken Glass Park,” off the band’s upcoming multidisc set Celebrate — The Greatest Hits+ — debuted today on BBC Radio 2, and you can hear it now via the BBC’s stream or the radio rip posted below (courtesy YouTube user Dennie Rijnsewijn). The song is one of two new tracks that will appear on the forthcoming best-of, which arrives March 25 in the U.K. (see full tracklist), and originally was written by Jim Kerr for his LostBoy! A.K.A. side project.

I like the music. It is reminiscent of the early 80’s sound. The vocal performance is not very good.
Again – another 80’s outfit with no relevance – Sons and Fascination, classic, Street Fighting Years – sub U2 (and to be fair U2 are crap) this is aural wallpaper.
Kerr, decent bloke, why not produce new bands instead, put your dollar into new interesting outfits rather than hashing out AOR elevator muzak?
People would respect you more – remember what date the New Gold Dream finished on? Enough said….
I like it a lot. And that’s saying a lot because I’ve also struggled to see the relevance of this band.
Arguably one of the best bands of the early 80s before they tragically became a tepid, stadium rock outfit a la U2. They returned to form on Graffiti Soul and to be fair, this is ok, but seriously, is there room for yet another hits collection from these guys?
Relevant to what?
Simple Minds are a great group. Better than the crap I heard on the Grammys. You wouldn’t have that new-wave sound everyone likes these days if it wasn’t for these guys.
best band ever, live version is wonderful.
Brilliant single from a brilliant band will defo see them on the arena tour cannot wait even supported by ultrvox rrrrrrr Vienna
The first band I every saw live (Roundhay Park, Leeds) met Mel Gaynor many years later having a drink in Mojo Bar (Leeds) really nice bloke!! Still awesome band to this day, love “Broken Glass Park”, would love a complete new album not just another greatest hits.
WHAT A GREAT SONG!!! I HEARD IT FIRST ON RADIO 2 AS WELL. BRILLIANT!
