Midnight Oil will be the subject of an all-new Australian TV documentary that promises “the first ever inside story” of the band, thanks to its use of “a wealth of rare archival footage as well as the only interviews with each of the five band members granted in recent years.” In the preview posted above, the band recall its 1990 performance on a flatbed truck in front of Exxon’s New York HQ to protest the Exxon Valdez oil spill.
“MAX The Artist’s Story: Midnight Oil” premieres 9:30 p.m. Nov. 1 on Australia’s MAX network around the same time as the release of the band’s new best-of, Essential Oils.
