Seeing as today marks the 25th anniversary of the release of the Pixies’ debut Come On Pilgrim, we’ll use this week’s “120 Minutes” Rewind to spotlight the hugely influential band with this 10-part, 25-minute playlist that highlights the interview segments and performances from the 1991 episode the band co-hosted with Dave Kendall.
The footage, via scratchbomb77, finds Kendall discussing the band’s then-new album Trompe le Monde and stuff like “one-word bands from Britain playing ambient noise things” with the group. There are also a pair of live performances, as the band rips through “U-Mass” and “Planet of Sound” off the aforementioned album.

Nice to hear This Picture mentioned..!
I used to have this on tape. I love how they spend most of the interview segments punking Dave Kendall, who was a complete douche. Other great moments: DK having no clue when U Mass ends and rushing onstage when they finish, also Pixies playing over DK as he tries to wrap up the show.
