John Lydon will bring his reconstituted Public Image Ltd. back to the U.S. for its first North American performance in two years this November when the band co-headlines the FunFunFun Fest in Austin, Texas — with more North American dates promised to be announced “as soon as we can.”
The band today announced it will play the festival Nov. 2; other acts on the bill include the reunited Run DMC, Santigold, Refused, Superchunk, Bob Mould performing Sugar’s Copper Blue, and X performing Los Angeles in full. Early-bird advance tickets are sold out, but the festival’s general on-sale begins today via its website.
PiL, which in late May released This Is PiL, currently has a handful of European festival and club dates booked for the summer, plus 15 dates in the U.K. and Ireland in late July and throughout August. The band has toured steadily since Lydon first resurrected his long-dormant post-Sex Pistols group in December 2009.
