Kevin Rowland’s reactivated Dexys Midnight Runners — now going by the shortened band name Dexys — will celebrate the release of One Day I’m Going to Soar, the band’s first album in 27 years, by performing it in its entirety at a pair of “theatrical shows” in Glasgow and Dublin this May, the group tweeted today.
The concerts are set for May 6 at the Cottier Theatre in Glasgow and May 8 at O2 Shepherds Bush Empire in London, and will find the band “perform(ing) the new album in its entirety, in sequence, followed by a few Dexys favourites.” The band adds: “We are planning a theatrical show – hence the seated venues. Look good, we will.”
Earlier this month, Rowland announced the band will release its new album on June 4. It will be the fourth from Rowland under the Dexys banner, and the first since 1985′s Don’t Stand Me Down.
