The newly expanded two-weekend Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival announced its 2012 lineup this afternoon, with headliners The Black Keys, Radiohead and Dr. Dre & Snoop Dogg joined by Pulp, Buzzcocks, Squeeze, Madness, James and a reunion of fIREHOSE, the Mike Watt’s and George Hurley’s post-Minutemen act.
Yet this year’s festival — featuring feature duplicated lineups April 13-15 and 20-22 at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, Calif. — will not feature any major headlining appearance by reformed ’80s acts such as The Stone Roses or New Order, both of which are touring the world this year and had been rumored to be likely performers.
Also appearing on the 2012 lineup: Neutral Milk Hotel’s Jeff Mangum, Oasis’ Noel Gallagher, Jimmy Cliff, reunions of Refused and At The Drive In, Florence and the Machine, Mazzy Star, Cat Power, Justice, M83, Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Bon Iver and The Shins.

ATDI? ATDI! Yessssssssss!
I love the way you feature the BEST bands…. ;-)
There are still additions to come, so I’m sure another big name will make it onto the list!
You’ve tagged this “new order” because they *aren’t* playing?!
