We missed this when it was announced, but Spandau Ballet frontman Tony Hadley is in the midst of his first-ever run of solo shows in the U.S., a six-date tour that opened Saturday in New York and hit Chicago and Los Angeles earlier this week.
Luckily for us, ex-KROQ/current 1st Wave DJ Richard Blade was on hand to MC the gig at the House of Blues in West Hollywood, and he posted this video of Hadley performing Spandau’s smash hit “True” and debut single “To Cut a Long Story Short.”
Hadley’s tour continues tonight in San Diego, and hits Las Vegas on Saturday and San Francisco on Sunday. Full details and venue information is listed here.
One of the great things about this website is finding out that many of those gorgeous stars of the 80s have aged like me, w/ gusto! I don’t feel so bad as cut another hole into my belt. Spandau was a guilty pleasure for me. I hid the album behind a bookcase with Japan and ABC and Adam Ant–afraid
of what my hardcore friends might say.
He looks like a big sweaty sausage.
