A trio of ’80s college-rock vets — Bob Mould, Throwing Muses and Dead Milkmen — are among the headliners announced today for the 2011 Athens PopFest, set for Oct. 11-15 in Athens, Ga. They join a pair of recently reunited acts at the top of the bill: Elephant 6 collective Olivia Tremor Control and surf rockers Man or Astro-man? Organizers say the full line-up of 70 bands will be unveiled in the coming weeks; so far, the only others announced are reunited indie-poppers Kleenex Girl Wonder and Athens’ Masters of the Hemisphere. Festival passes — priced at $70 — are on sale now.
