For two months, Depeche Mode has been teasing Remixes 2: 81-11 with a series of pre-release streams and free downloads of mixes from the set, but they’ve avoided releasing the two most buzzed-about tracks — new mixes by former band members Vince Clarke and Alan Wilder.
This weekend, though, those two tracks — Clarke’s poppy remix of the Music for the Masses hit single “Behind the Wheel” and Wilder’s moody reworking of Sounds of the Universe opener “In Chains” — leaked onto the Internet, and you can now hear the two lengthy remixes below, which come to us via the Modefan.com fansite.
The two mixes appear on the third disc of the expanded 3CD version of Remixes 2, which arrives June 7. More details on the collection, and the full tracklist, are available here.
