The original lineup of famed Los Angeles-bred roots-punk legends X will — John Doe, Exene Cervenka, Billy Zoom and D.J. Bonebrake — will mount a seven-date tour up and down the California coast this June, a summer-themed trek that the group has dubbed the “Boardwalk Beach Party.”
The trek opens with shows June 3 and 4 in Anaheim, then hits San Diego, San Francisco, Napa and Santa Cruz before wrapping up at the Johnny Cash Music Festival in Ventura on June 18. According to X’s website, the band is “back to play your favorite X songs.”
Last December, X celebrated the 30th anniversary of its debut Los Angeles by playing the album in its entirety during a run of Christmas dates along the West Coast — including a pair of San Francisco shows featuring the record’s producer, Ray Manzarek of The Doors.
