In a completely unsurprising development, it appears our MBV Watch 2010 feature now will stretch into 2011: As one of our readers notes, Amazon.co.uk now reports the long-rumored, little-believed reissues of My Bloody Valentine’s two albums — 1988’s Isn’t Anything and 1991’s Loveless — have been delayed for the umpteenth time, and now are due Jan. 24, more than a full year after the release date we trumpeted in the first installment of this feature. This marks at least the fifth release date in the past year for these discs.
PREVIOUSLY ON SLICING UP EYEBALLS
- My Bloody Valentine’s ‘Loveless,’ ‘Isn’t Anything’ reissues pushed to November
- My Bloody Valentine’s ‘Loveless,’ ‘Isn’t Anything’ reissues delayed until August
- My Bloody Valentine’s ‘Loveless,’ ‘Isn’t Anything’ reissues bumped to March
- Shocker: My Bloody Valentine ‘Loveless,’ ‘Isn’t Anything’ reissues delayed. Again
- My Bloody Valentine’s ‘Loveless,’ ‘Isn’t Anything’ reissues due out in January
What I wanna know is why they keep getting delayed!
This is the same thing that happened with the Disintegration reissue. Hopefully these will be worth the wait as well.
All I can say is, after Kevin Shields takes this long on it, it had better be f**king amazing.
I’m guessing that the release will get pushed back until the 4 November 1991 which will be the actual 20th anniversary release date.
Well, what’s another 20 years?
According to HMV it is now 14th March 2011
