A week before the disc arrives in stores, the folks at Sub Pop Records have begun streaming Several Shades of Why, the first-ever solo studio album from Dinosaur Jr guitar god J Mascis. In the player above (via Spin), you can check out the mostly acoustic disc, which features guest turns by Kevin Drew of Broken Social Scene, Kurt Vile and Band of Horses’ Ben Bridwell, among others. Mascis hits the road later this week with a solo-acoustic tour in support of the disc.
