With three tracks off R.E.M.’s forthcoming new album Collapse Into Now — “Discoverer,” “Oh My Heart” and the Eddie Vedder-assisted “It Happened Today” — already having made it onto the web in various ways, the band today announced the first official radio single off the album: the rocker “Mine Smell Like Honey” (you can stream the track below), which also will go on sale via iTunes and other digital outlets beginning next Tuesday. The album itself is slated to be released March 8 on Warner Bros.

This is awful. So far this album sounds pretty bad to me, lol.
good lord. i fell in love with this band shortly after murmur came out — and i am shaking my head in dismay. all of these streamed tracks are dismal (as in “around the sun” dismal). jeez.
These two assholes above me should take their heads out of heir asses and realize that the song is quite awesome and that Collapse Into Now will be stellar!
Not feelin it. Sorry.
Accelerate was a brilliant album (and a thankful return to form), but these new songs are, well, not. They don’t bode well for the upcoming release, sorry to say. Seems like R.E.M. have lost the plot once again…
