The lastest in French music site La Blogotheque’s impromptu “A Take Away Show” series — in which bands or artists throw together spontaneous performances, wherever they may be — features Echo & The Bunnymen frontman Ian McCulloch offering up a stark, solo-acoustic take on the band’s classic “The Killing Moon.” This one was filmed last month in Toronto in what appears to be a dark back room of whatever club the Bunnymen were playing that night.

love em but im sad for em.
fucking cigarettes ian, fucking cigarettes…
I’ve been listening to Echo & The Bunnymen since the early 80’s and I never realized that Ian could play the guitar…Apparently I’m a bad fan! :-D
Agree with both comments above. This must have been film at The Phoenix in Toronto. I shot their performance their on the 23rd of April.
I’ve always been a big fan of Ian’s guitar playing. I think he and Rob Dickinson have always been very under-appreciated axmen.
