Slicing Up Eyeballs to air weekly show on Strangeways Radio beginning Nov. 30

We interrupt our regular programming for this bit of exciting news: In two weeks, Slicing Up Eyeballs will debut a brand-new weekly specialty show on Strangeways Radio, a commercial-free web outlet devoted to “taking alternative back.”

The hour-long show — cleverly titled “Slicing Up Eyeballs” and hosted each week from Denver, Colo., by yours truly, despite a complete lack of practical or even imagined radio experience — will stream online at 10 p.m. Eastern/7 p.m. Pacific every Tuesday beginning Nov. 30, with re-broadcasts slated to air at 2 p.m. Eastern/noon Pacific every Friday.

Just like this site, the show will celebrate the lasting legacy of ’80s college rock, both by spinning classic indie, post-punk, synthpop and alternative tracks of that era, and delving into the continuing output of those beloved artists across the ’90s, ’00s and beyond.

I’m very excited for the opportunity to do this — special thanks to Strangeways’ Michael Foster for making this happen — and hope you’ll join us over at Strangeways Radio, both for this show and the station’s other programs, including “Halcyon Waves,” “Sound and Vision,” “Big Sonic Heaven” and, in particular, the all-retro show “Vicious Pink.”

  1. Fantastic news! Will you be digging deep? Would love to hear Sad Lovers & Giants, For Against, Abecedarians, Comsat Angels, The Sound, Blue In Heaven, Lucy Show, A Certain Ratio, Durutti Column…those that don’t get normally played on these types of stations.

    Can we listen internationally?

    Good luck,
