Nitzer Ebb ‘Catalogue,’ ‘Compilation’ multi-disc box sets due next month

Mute Records is capitalizing on renewed interest in Nitzer Ebb — the reunited British EBM act has a new album out, and is touring with Depeche Mode once again — to release Compilation and Catalogue, two new multi-disc box sets that highlight the group’s past output.

Due out Jan. 25 in Europe, the five-disc Catalogue collects each of Nitzer Ebb’s Mute albums — That Total Age (1987), Belief(1989), Showtime(1990), Ebbhead(1991) and Big Hit (1995) — in a picture slipcase, retaining each album’s original CD tracklisting.

On the same day arrives Compilation, a three-disc set that merges the 2006 collections Body of Work and Body Rework, which brought together the band’s singles from 1986 to 1995 along with period remixes and new reworkings of the tracks.

In November, Nitzer Ebb released Industrial Complex, its first new album in 15 years, via digital music providers and as a tour-only CD during the group’s U.S. club trek. A traditional CD release, in Europe at least, is slated for Jan. 22. By then, the group will be back on the road, opening for Depeche Mode throughout Europe.
