The Pet Shop Boys today announced details of their new single, “Together,” which will be released Nov. 29 in the U.K. — backed by new studio recordings of two cover songs — and appear on the duo’s forthcoming best-of Ultimate.
Although full tracklists haven’t yet been unveiled, PSB’s site reports that the single will be released as two different CDs and a digital download, and will feature, as B-sides, studio versions of “Glad All Over,” the Dave Clark’s Five’s 1963 No. 1 single that the band performed in Blackpool this past summer; and “I Cried For Us,” a Kate McGarrigle song that Neil Tennant sang at her memorial concert in London last June (see video of both, plus hear a 30-second clip of ‘Together,’ below).
The single also will include an extended version of “Together” mixed by Tim Powell, as well as a number of other unnamed “dance remixes.” The duo also is scheduled to shoot a music video for the song later this month in Eastern Europe.
